Choosing the Right Version

If I were to give any advice for what Shakespeare versions you choose, it would be this: find the newest version with the most well-known actors. I don't mean well known to you necessarily, but well known to the kids. In the version of Hamlet below, there are actors from BBC's Sherlock, Bridgerton, and Downton Abbey. They know the actors a bit and are much more interested in watching because of it. 

If I could give you a second piece of advice on choosing your Shakespeare version? It is totally okay if the version is set in a modern, different, or just non-Elizabethan time period. It's actually probably better! Yes, it takes a little more explanation and there may be a bit of confusion on what is representing what in this particular universe, but it's worth it for the engagement and understanding you'll get for the effort.
